Eco Experience 2009

at the Minnesota State Fair

Visit us at the Minnesota State Fair 2009. The Eco Experience exhibit fills the Progress Center, just inside the main entrance. Look for the big wind-turbine blade marking the Progress Center.

In the mechanical room of the Eco Experience home you'll see full-size models of solar energy systems and smart grid technology from Powerfully Green for your home.

Eco Experience is the continuing theme chosen by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and other State Fair partners to help bring attention to ecology, our environment, and reducing our impact on the earth. You'll find information and hands-on learning on topis like solar power, green buidling composting, energy-efficiency, bio-diesel, electric vehicles, organic food, green roofs, environmentally-friendly landscaping, and much more.

Builders, architects, and many experts in the areas of green buildling have worked together to creat a new, contemporary look for the State Fair's Eco House.  Many green building strategies and technologies will be featured, including passive and active solar systems, rain-screen technology with durable FSC-certified paper siding, and an artfully crafted wall built using FSC-certified wood. Bring your family and learn about many features that you can incorporate into your own home.
